My lovely girlfriend bought me this at a garage sale in Melbourne. So cool...

SmartLab TV Remote Control

Basically it's a "build your own remote control" kit for kids. It includes all the parts needed to build your own universal remote and also includes a picture book explaining how infrared remotes work. I actually learnt quite a few things reading through that... kinda embarrassing!
